About Me

I am a digital media specialist originally from an ancient history background. I studied at Edinburgh University majoring in Classical Studies where my research topic was a comparison of digital reconstructions of archaelogical sites. I decided that I wanted to continue with my topic not from a theoretical point of view but a practical one so I went on to study a Master of Science Postgraduate Degree in Digital Design and Media in order to put my media skills to the test. My aim was to specialise in archaelogocial reconstruction using 3D authoring programs. I realised soon however that I would need to spend three more years and more time specialising in the use of specific programs in order to do this and in the end I preferred to be a jack of all trades and master of none.

I now use my digital media skills to advise companies about new media strategy and developments. I do small scale web design mainly for a little extra pocket money and to increase my skills and keep my knowledge in those areas up-to-date. In doing my analyses of the digital world for companies I'm hoping to save them time and money because I often find that many so called web specialists and designers as well as technology experts only specialise in confusing their clients with unnecessary jargon. I aim to correct what economists call "information asymmetry" - the situation where one person knows more than another. I want my clients to know where they stand in the digital landscape and to know when they're being taken for a ride.

When I'm not glued to computer screen one can often find me out and about taking photos with my trusty Olympus cameras or playing capoeira with my good friends. I recently completed filming a documentary about capoeira in south east asia and I'm hoping to enter it into a film festival or two before releasing it via the internet. I live and work in London currently in Mile End with another photographer, physical performer , an artist and an art curator.

I love to travel and recently spent five months living and working in Malaysia where I have some family on my mothers side. My next big project will be a fiction film based on the old legends of capoeira just need to find some funding....
